The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a story about a man put in an uncomfortable position to care for the estate of his friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll. This story, told from the perspective of Gabriel John Utterson, Esquire and his narration of an unusual and frightening event of the transformation, strange behavior and eventual disappearance of his friend. Other characters play a role in this text, most notably the strange personality of Mr. Hyde. This text, although somewhat difficult to read at points, is a collection of materials and discussion about a very odd transformation. Keep in mind the concept of a split personality, choosing against your better judgment, addictions and other reasons why people change. This text reminds us that friends are important as well as a life not confined to one particular place or job but shared with people who care.
